Youth Advocacy Program (YAP)

Status: Vetted

Alternate Name: YAP

Description: Servicing Chatham County, Georgia, YAP began as a pilot program in 2011. As a collaborative effort with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, Georgia YAP provides high fidelity wrap around services for juvenile offenders and since its start, has helped over 70 youth and families with 62% of youth not re-offending. Our services are individualized and tailored to meet specific needs of each youth. To enhance our program model, additional outcome based components are rendered to each youth as an added feature. The local program is under the leadership of a Director and our Advocates work hand-in-hand with each youth and family to ensure program success. Typically a youth is enrolled in the Georgia YAP program for a period of 6 months. Expansion for Georgia YAP is underway with growth in Chatham County and in other areas within the state.
